The Royal Orchid Hotel is a five-star hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Very nice staff - they let us into our room at 10:00 in the morning, which was just what we needed after a 13-hour flight. The room was very spacious with a large window facing the river. The view was beautiful, especially at night. The bathroom was large, too, and everything was very clean. Great breakfast with everything, even ice cream! There are also several restaurants in the hotel and a casual terrace overlooking the river. The downside - the wi-fi is free only in the reception area and it costs five dollars an hour otherwise. It has two pools, one on a terrace that looks out onto the river and the other in a garden surrounded by tropical plants.
Situated roughly in the center of town, it is a good place to stay in Bangkok. While it's not so close to the old part of the city nor to the more commercial area, it's not too far from anywhere, so you can get from one place to the next relatively easy, although in Taxi or Tuk-Tuk, smile if they catch you in the monsoon rains. It has a pool, spa, good breakfast and offers 5 different restaurants for lunch and dinner. In addition, they are very attentive and pay attention to all kinds of details. A highly recommended place to stay in Thailand.
The Sukosol is situated in the Phayathai intersection, just two blocks north of Siam Square and the Siam Paragon Shopping Center. The neighborhood is nice and is filled with mainly government offices and several businesses headquarters. The airport is just 30 minutes away. The rooms are decorated with themes based on various eras of Thai history.
