We tried the 8-course tasting menu and each plate was better than the one before. It’s noveau-cuisine that plays with textures, flavors, and temperatures on the same plate. I loved the chick peas with field mushrooms in ajoarriero sauce. If you’ve got a huge appetite, though, you might leave a bit hungry. I’d recommend it.
La Claudia has been the restaurant of reference in Altea’s old town for years, both in terms of the originality of the menu as well as the terrace, which is one of the best in town.
The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly cozy. The tables aren’t too close together and you can usually reserve an intimate corner table if you call ahead of time. The menu is made up of dishes cooked in the French “bistro” style, with the daily options written in chalk on the walls. The menu often changes, but the waiters are always ready to help you with recommendations. However, the impressive terrace is definitely the selling point. There’s no better place to be in summer.
I’d like to give a special shout out to Joaquina, who made us feel right at home.
This place has a well-deserved reputation as one of the best fish and rice restaurants in Dénia. They offer various menus ranging from 55€/person (a regional tasting menu featuring the famous red shrimp) to 27€. The price is more than reasonable if you take into consideration that 3 menus can easily feed four hungry adults. You must make reservations ahead of time in summer.
This is a replica of an eighteenth century Spanish galleon, permanently docked at the port in Malaga. It can be towed to any port of Spain. Area: 2400 m2. It has three decks with completely different environments: You can eat in the Trinidad restaurant (Mediterranean cuisine), dance in the Trafalgar Room, have a drink in Sala Gravina, or a snack in Sala Churruca. The perfect place to take a stroll around the deck, have something to eat or just a drink.
This place is perfect for seafood-lovers, especially those who like high-quality “pescaito frito” (Spanish-style fried fish). The restaurant is comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for lunch or dinner. I’ll definitely be back! My final recommendation is that you take in the views of Benidorm from the square in front of The Church of San Jaime, only 1 minute from this restaurant. It’s the perfect way to finish your meal.
Actually, today there are two Katagorri in Alicante, on C / Portugar and on the Rambla. I can only say that the food is the best I've had in Alicante, and is offered at market prices. I have eaten here many times and it seems that the creativity of these guys never ends. There is always a new and interesting dish or snack to try. I sincerely congratulate the owners of this place.
A family restaurant, cozy and very well-kept. In Urbanova, near the airport of Alicante. You can find traditional Mediterranean cuisine there. Our wine list is extensive and highly recommended to its customers.
The best rice I've ever eaten in my life! Enjoying a good meal on the beach in the middle of October is a real luxury, and food like this makes it even better. Playa Azul is a restaurant with forty years of history, with great service, a great location, and delicious food. Everything we ate here was delicious, and the waiter - I can't remember if he was Jose Luis or Jose Antonio - was wonderful, always smiling.
La Mejillonera is one of the typical local joints in Benidorm and it’s easy to find because it’s in the center. If you go shopping or to the beach, you will bump into it.
You can try different dishes on the terrace or inside, among which I’d highlight the mussels. I must say that I usually don’t like Tiger mussels (mussels gratin with béchamel) and that didn’t change here, but the mussels in vinaigrette were simply divine.
The service is nice, fast and helpful and the price is about the average for similar places in Benidorm.
As soon as you enter this restaurant, you’ll realize that it’s not your average place. The friendliness of the waiters makes you feel more like a friend than a customer, friendly and warm without overdoing it. In short, very professional.
As soon as we sat down they brought us water and some free appetizers. The menu, while not huge, offers a good variety of fish, starters, meats, veggie plats, and eggs. They also will entertain off-menu orders if they can and will go out of their way to accommodate vegetarians and gluten-intolerant diners.
The wine list is centered around locally-produced wines with D.O. names. They also do some wonderful rice dishes. The waiter also offers some interesting and creative daily specials. They also have homemade desserts, including ice cream.
I love coming to this restaurant for dinner, both for its local service and lovely food (pizzas, pasta, wings, meat, salads, etc.) Nothing is wasted, everything is delicious. There is a tasting menu for several people so you just have to go hungry to try everything.
On Calle Loreto in Denia you can find the perfect place to go to dinner with friends; one of these several restaurants is Ca La Pepa Teresa. It is an old house tastefully restored and with a simple menu of typical local tapas, all of which are delicious. Staff are very professional and prompt. 100% recommended.
La Seu perfectly represents what I believe a cutting-edge restaurant should aspire to be: attention to detail. This detail extends from the extraordinary ambience to the delicate treatment of a premium product. Thanks to this the eating experience here is unforgettable.
Truly Tasca Eulalia is a landmark in Dénia for tapas, raciones and casseroles. You have absolutely everything you need here and the value is very good. The staff are friendly and effiecient, even though it is almost always crowded, both inside and outside on the terrace, which is great!. It is located on the main street of Denia, just in C / Marqués de Campo, 39
The word “chiringuito” (“beach bar”) does not bring to mind pleasant eating experiences. El Cranc de la Olla in Altea is a beach bar with amazing views in an enchanting spot, despite the aggressive urban expansion in the area and the rising real estate prices.
El Cranc is one of those places that puts a lot of effort into offering its guests the best fish and a variety of rice dishes. And they know how to keep it simple: fresh grilled fish, grilled vegetables, baby squid, and a variety of rice dishes from Alicante. You’ll leave happy!
If you want to go to a beach bar, El Cranc is the best option and it’s a local classic with over 25 years of service. The tables are literally at the edge of the water and it really makes you feel like you’re part of the town, although Altea’s bohemian charm is continually being lost. The Olla de Altea really is a world apart.
I knew the place because of some friends ve went for dinner drinks but one day we went for dinner. We were 7 people and ordered seafood, steak and monkfish - it was all delicious, but even if the owners try the price is unbeatable and more.
