In a city more famous for its seafood, where you eat an authentic Neapolitan pizza? Punte E Virgola is the answer! The freshness of the buffalo mozzarella is truly delicious - it reminded me of the Castel dell'Ovo in Naples, where I ate the best pizza of my life!
The Antica Casa della Malvasia offers classic Vicenza cuisine, prepared with simple ingredients, with refined prsentation. The wine list is extensive, with excellent offerings, particularly from local wineries. The atmosphere is very nice, the restaurant is a few steps from the Palladian Basilica, in a quiet part where small tables are placed in the "garden" for the summer. The interior is divided into several rooms, some suitable for many guests, but it's notable for its quiet corners designed for two people.
A great place to go for a colorful, fun, night when it's cold outside. This is a cozy Mexican restaurant with a large menu that's sure to surprise you with its unusual combinations (fish fajitas!), and delicious cocktails. The background music is pleasant, and there are screened corners where you can dine in privacy, accompanied by candlelight. The sculpture of a life-size man lying in a hammock hanging from the ceiling was very funny. The menu is huge, and you can also order dinner to go.
Villa delle Rose is a pizzeria, restaurant, lounge bar just outside the centre of Vicenza. It is a renovated farmhouse that has been decorated in style. The pizzeria offers a wide range of dishes, the most famous being the pizza sold by the metre. You can choose your size (25 - 50 cm or more. 25cm is a normal pizza), and the pizza is served in a special dish. I recommend it for a night of fun with friends. In summer you can also dine outside on the elegant terrace.
It's surprising to enter this restaurant and see that the staff are mostly Chinese, both in the kitchen, and at the front of house. Despite what you may think, the staff are friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. The menu includes traditional dishes such as bigoli, pasta and beans, ravioli with gorgonzola, polenta, rabbit, cod Vicenza and desserts, all homemade. It also provides a set menu for lunch at 12 €, excluding drinks, with two courses and a vegetable buffet.
When it comes to typical Vicenza cuisine, we can't miss out on Il Cursore. It is a restaurant par excellence, famous and award-winning. It is located in a quiet area near the city centre, offering everything you want if you're looking for a good traditional Venetian dish: polenta and mushrooms, cod, pasticcio, bigoli, stewed squid ... there are a thousand things to choose from! The restaurant is family owned, and has that old home look, making you feel at home. You can dine well for less than 20 euros. Bon Appetite!
Here in this historic inn you can enjoy typical Venetian food. Fried fish, meatballs, the delicious fried aubergine with ham, chicken wings, octopus, vegetables, potatoes, sliced radishes, dumplings, local wine ... the restaurant is small, so places are limited. While you're waiting you can have a look at historic photos of Vicenza football, as well as a price list of an ancient brothel! The prices are very fair: a dinner for two with a couple of dishes mixed with various cicchetti each, very generous, and two glasses of wine, € 18 in total. Not bad! Closed on Sunday. Open the rest of the week from 8 to 22. Enjoy your meal!
If you want to quench your thirst on a summer's evening, enjoying a beer of excellent quality, this is the place. The brewery specialises in Belgian beers, offering dozens of different types of draft beer: red, blonde, and dark. It has a very nice summer garden, and a good menu of sandwiches, bruschetta, pizza and fries. It's comfortable and welcoming, with wood and glass like in old beer factories. An excellent place to go for dinner with friends. The service is diligent, and discreet. You can enjoy a wonderful, relaxing evening here, drinking top quality beer.
This is a beautiful traditional tavern in the centre of Vicenza, with a dark counter and stone walls - sincere, rustic surroundings. The kitchen offers something more, though: great dishes celebrating the local tradition, from cod, to bigoli in duck sauce. The price is right, and there's also a fixed price menu which I haven't tried. They have a selection of local wines that can be ordered by the glass. Definitely worth a visit!
The place is beautiful, in the centre of Vicenza, 200 metres from the Basilica Palladiana. Very cozy, historic and renovated. Here you can enjoy fresh fish, raw and hot seafood ... absolutely delicious, and all accompanied by good wine. The pizza is made with soy bean paste, so it's lighter, and easier to digest.
In the historic center of Vicenza, at the foot of the stairs of Monte Berico, is the Osteria il Buganiere. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and delicious dishes with local products. The variety allows for a wide choice of wines for different palates, with delicious snacks, and platters of cold meats and cheeses to accompany, as well as the excellent local dishes such as the classic bigoli all'anitra until codfish' Vicenza. Must try and try again!
So you've come to the historic centre of Vicenza, and you're looking to try some good pizza? Look no further! The Pizzeria Bella Vicenza is 100 metres from the Piazza dei Signori, and has been here for 20 years, offering excellent pizzas cooked in a wood stove in a cozy, pleasant atmosphere. The owners are warm and welcoming, always with a smile. There's a variety of toppings, but all are of excellent quality. You can try classic pizzas as well as more unusual offerings. Ever tried fried egg on a pizza? Or cabbage? But the real highlight is the potato rosti pizza - potatoes sliced, boiled, then added to the pizza. The result is amazing! You can find plenty of information on the website. The pizzas cost about 8 euro, and you should budget 12 - 15 for a meal. At the weekends, it's better to book in advance.
