This is a great place for celebrations and big meals, beautiful and welcoming. As their website says, it's an eighteenth-century building, originally intended for the production of sweet wines. At the present, it still retains a lot of the ornamentation of yesteryear, and is a great example of a rustic villa. But the most important thing is the food. For starters, we had some canapes, with ham and Spanish tortilla. The menu had a salad of pickled partridge with raisins and pine nuts, and Iberian sirloin. To finish, we had a chocolate brownie with delicious scoops of ice cream. We had a fantastic day; after eating, we went to explore the site, with antique farm good, oil and wine jars, and peacocks and other birds. Accompanied by a glass of wine and pleasant company ... just perfect!
The entrance to the plot of land is a road lined with palm trees that leads to the parking lot. Nearby, there’s a small lake with fish and ducks. As soon as you take the path to the restaurant, you’ll find this wonderful tapas restaurant situated in an old chapel. You can sit inside or outside on the terrace.
If you bring children, there’s an inflatable play area nearby where they can play. The service is a bit slow, but it’s worth it for the delicious food. They serve meat, veggies and fish, all very fresh and seasonal. You can see the palm-studded hills from the terrace and it makes for a very nice evening.
In the center of Alcoy (Alicante) the Victor Bar is one of the most famous bars in the city for tapas. Homemade tapas in a place that has been open since 1930 and accumulates thousands of souvenirs such as postcards, photos and countless memories. Dinner and museum are both worth it. The place is small so it is worth booking.
I recently did a route with the people in my class to Novelda, we had several guides and were testing a new tourist route to promote tourism. The route has very good places to visit, the only thing I missed were more practical guides. Here are a few pictures.
The restaurant Meson Puerto Casa Angel serves traditional seafood and Mediterranean cuisine, situated in the Port of Jávea and whose specialty is rice and fish from along the coast. They have an extensive wine cellar with many different wines. The menu also offers homemade desserts. The price is about 20 euros per person, but they also offer a cheaper daily menu. A good choice in terms of money.
After much traveling in Spain and beyond, it is amazing to discover that there is finally a hotel restaurant that allows you to enjoy an 11-out-of-10 meal with exquisite service.
The rice dishes are beyond description! Aside from rice, we also had a wonderful octopus gratin. The desserts tasted great to my palate and were definitely homemade.
Right around the Basilica de Santa Maria in Elche, you'll find this cozy, somewhat-hidden restaurant serving fresh and authentic regional cuisine. It's one of those places that goes almost overlooked when you walk by, but you enter the front door and descend into the cellar where you'll find stone archways sheltering cozy rooms with white linen tables, all kinds of bullfighting paraphernalia, and photos of tons of Spanish celebrities and local socialites enjoying the restaurant.
They serve regional cuisine, and it's fresh from the garden or fishing boats. We had the snails, a delicious and generous portion of small Levante-area snails cooked with garlic and tomatoes. The fried calamari was second to none and not at all rubbery (a sign that they're usually frozen). We also had some deliciously plump mussels and freshly-grilled wild mushrooms dressed with garlic, parsley, olive oil, and lemon juice.
The price is reasonable and they let you order half portions of everything so you have an opportunity to try a nice spread of local delicacies. But be warned, the menu is merely for suggestion only. Ask the waiter what they have first. They wont have everything on the menu, they'll only have those items which are in season and guaranteed fresh. Highly recommended if you're in Elche and looking for an authentic place for dinner.
This restaurant is located in the village of Monovar, Alicante. It is known for having large windows, with a rustic and traditional feel. This is a very elegant and comfortable place that offers a wide variety of traditional dishes, such as rice, pastas and homemade pizzas made in a wood oven, grilled meats, marinated fish, etc. It represents great value for money.
This place serves delicious homemade meals, very good wines and is good value for money. Lovely for a romantic candlelit dinner on a Saturday night, with roses and romantic music, good food and fine wines. The homemade desserts are also great.
This restaurant is situated in Miguel Hernandez Square, opposite the theater of Torrevieja. It is not a particularly big place, but it's worth going and trying it out because the food is great, the service is great and the atmosphere is lovely. I love the fried eggplant with honey and they also have a large variety of delicious toasted bread with different toppings. The menu changes from day to day, but whatever the day, everything is always great.
