Throughout the cruise, the vineyards grow on both sides. What I remember about it are the locks, moving from side to side of the dam. Because of this, the boat becomes a kind of ship and, once there, it begins to fill up with water until the ship reaches the level of the river on the other side. It feels a bit claustrophobic but it is certainly an experience you will never forget. I also remember that every time I think of the Duero, the verses I learned when I was a child: Rio Douro, Douro River, no one to go with low, no one stops to hear your eternal verse of water. And I remember watching the foam which makes the boat pass, as the words of love you speak of romance. Rio Douro Douro River today to accompany low. Today I pause to hear your eternal verse of water.
About 30 km from Braga is Caniçada reservoir that, although it is easy to get to, if you go for the first time it's also quite easy to get lost. The river Cávado and the main reservoir is where we find the Sanctuary of S. Bento da Porta Aberta ii, which is a pilgrimage in Portugal. For 100 euros you can rent a boat for ten people and enjoy a trip around the reservoir. Curiously, during the trip, you can see the house of Cristiano Ronaldo, take a stop in the dock and enjoy the microclimate that is in this place. You can also try jet skiing or rent canoes and pedal boats. Do not forget that here you are in the Peneda-Gerês, a place with great natural charm and in which there's always something to do!
