Unfortunately I can't say that I've stayed at this hotel, which is one of the most, if not the most luxurious, in Chicago, but my daughter was playing in the park directly in front of it, (Seneca Park) and she had an urgent need to visit the bathroom. Since it was early and the shops were closed, the only option was the Ritz. This hotel is located in the great assembly [poi = 115387] Water Tower Place [/ poi], which includes a large shopping center with offices, restaurants, etc. It is in the very center of the city, right next to the Water Tower and the Magnificent Mile. You won't need to tell anyone it's a five-star hotel, as they've spared no expense on the decor. It's quite minimalist, but extremely luxurious. My son's sudden illness let us get a glimpse inside this amazing hotel, especially the lounge, with a large glass roof lets enjoy an unimaginable view of the skyscrapers around it, especially the John Hancock Tower. We didn't have anything to eat or drink because with kids it wouldn't have been possible, but I highly recommend going to have a romantic drink to enjoy the atmosphere and the views. It's a high-class place, no doubt.
The Allerton Hotel was one of the first skyscrapers of the Magnificent Mile, which was built in the late 1920s. During Al Capone's reign in Chicago, it was one of the key areas of social life of the city. Then, with the passing of time and and the construction of other glass and steel giants, it lost its luster and fell into disrepute. Ten years ago, it underwent an extensive renovation that restored it to its former glory, something this historic building deserves. One of its distinguishing features is the sign TIP TOP TAP on the exterior wall which was once the name of the bar on the top floor which closed 50 years ago. However, the sign has remained in place ever since and is now one of the icons of the city.
The Peninsula is simply a beautiful hotel, the perfect choice for a romantic getaway be it a weekend or longer holiday in Chicago. The service and attentiveness of the staff is flawless and exudes luxury to make you not want to leave the hotel but stay and enjoy every minute of the experience. Without a doubt worth the price, they understand the meaning of quality and impeccable service. The Spa should not be missed, rest and relaxation at its best, even the gym is immaculate. Wish I could recreate the bathroom at home. Definitely one of my most memorable hotel stays.
This recently-opened Sofitel hotel chain really caught my attention for its cool architectural design. In fact, it has won the award for best building in Chicago over the past ten years. I can not speak about the inside since I haven't even been in the door, but the outside is wonderful. It is a huge triangular tower of glass tapered from its southern edge as if done by a giant axe. Furthermore, it leans forward so that the upper floors literally hanging over the street. I don't know how the rooms of the tip are (pretty close together, I assume) but I'm sure the views are spectacular. It's located in the Water Tower area, almost facing Hancock Tower. If you have the budget for it, I'm convinced that it must be a great hotel. In any case, the building is impressive and very photogenic.
The charismatic hotel was built in 1920 at the beginning of the legendary Michigan Avenue, on the mythical Magnificent Mile. This old Italian-style hotel was inspired by Italian villas and palaces and is located next to the beach on the lake and the immense John Hancock Tower. The interior is quite luxurious. It was built by two brothers,John and Tracy Drake. The Drake Hotel was highly acclaimed from the beginning, but its rise to fame was due to the popularity of radio programs. It was Chicago's first hotel to provide air conditioning in all rooms and also the first to have color TVs.
For the moment this is the hotel that I have chosen. Although the comments are not great, they all stress that the price is very good for the location. At 1000 euros for 6 nights, not including breakfast, it is not cheap, but in the end it is close to everything and the cost of other hotels are prohibitive.
The Seneca Hotel & Suites is located in the spectacular city of Chicago, state capital of Illinois and enjoys an excellent location. From here it will be very easy to access major attractions and points of interest in the city. The rooms have wireless high-speed internet service.
The Comfort Suites Michigan Avenue (Chicago) is located steps from the shops of the Magnificent Mile and offers residential- style rooms. It is located near the Art Institute of Chicago .
It offers a free hot breakfast daily. It has 117 rooms that are rooms are fully equipped with microwave and refrigerator and free high speed internet. It has a shop and gym available on site.
This is one of the best hotels that you can find in Chicago. It's located Downtown, 50 meters from Michigan Avenue and just a three minutes walk from the beaches of Chicago. The rooms are very large with king or queen beds and the pillows are HUGE, you'll quickly fall asleep. Most rooms have views but the views from from the 30th floor are the best. The people who work there are very attentive and try to help you in any way they can. But best of all, is definitely the pool they have in the Penthouse. One can bathe while gazing at the buildings of Chicago, have a drink while watching the beach or even sunbathe while watching the sunset ...
