This "handsome" palace hotel is located in the historic center of Viseu, in a building of great historical and cultural value. The Palacio dos Melos has been categorized as five stars, and it is the result of a profound remodeling of a landmark building, respecting the original architecture and combining it with ancient and modern styles. The hotel has 23 standard rooms, 2 superior rooms and 2 deluxe rooms with a whirlpool, safe, minibar, restaurant, bar. The beds in the rooms are awesome as you can see from the photos I took. It did have a slight problem, although there is no garage, there is also no parking, only 5 or 6 cars come and I have also heard that there is no pool. The positive side of staying in this beautiful hotel with breakfast included is that it is not expensive. The breakfast buffet is ok but I would categorize it as having a four-star level. In short I do not advise you to spend many days in Viseu because it has more to do with their environment, natural landscapes, and places to travel from there, such as villages like Tondela and mountains such as the Caramulo mountains, museums like the automobile museum , if worth a visit.
I loved this hotel, it was as if I was sleeping in an old mansion, but in the center of the city next to Rossio Square (the bad thing is that there was no garage). The building is old, and although it looks as if it has been remodeled ,it keeps the flavor of the past in its decor. That is exactly what gives it its special charm. More than a hotel, it is like a pension, because the treatment is very familiar, I guess because it only has 29 rooms. It has a nice living room with tv, sofas and a fireplace as well as a PC with internet. Then started the long corridor that led to the many rooms and another room where breakfast is served. One thing that struck me is that in the middle of the corridor was a bathroom cabinet with a sink. The room was nice, but as I say, the furniture is old (many of the reviews I've read complained about it): its 2 beds with their respective tables, a small desk on which urges the tv, and chair. For heating had an electric heater that had worried before my arrival turn. There was a large walk-in closet opposite the bathroom. The bathroom, very simple, with shower. Do not have the bells and whistles of a high end hotel like amenities, but there was free wifi in the room. That's right, no smoking. The breakfast room was very large and tastefully decorated. The pretty good and varied breakfast (buffet): assorted pastries, homemade jams, cold meats, cereals, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. Certainly not a grand hotel, but the deal was great and I think it has a particular charm. Also, I went very well priced 45 €. Of course, I would repeat.
We arrived at the Pousada through a website called "Prestige". The normal price exceeded € 120.00 per night, but we got a room for less than € 60.00 per night in September, with continental breakfast buffet included. There was a pool outside, free parking, free WiFi with password from reception. And a terrace with two teak chairs, if you get the attic room, which is not bad for a few days. It is very well positioned for walking to Viseu.
The Grão Vasco Hotel is in central Viseu and offers facilities for relaxation, such as a pool. For dinner the restaurant offers typical food. It has 109 rooms and features a business center with wired internet access and Wi-fi in public areas. It also has a safe, soundproofed rooms, heating and smoking is prohibited throughout the hotel.
Very nice. Great location, very clean rooms, friendly staff. I did not see the pool that they say they have, and I was there in mid-june. The breakfast was good but there wasn't a large selection. It must be very cozy in the winter. It would be nice to see the snow and then go back to the room and sit in front of the fireplace (if you have a suite like I did). I recommend it.
The Hotel Onix (Viseu) has 86 comfortable rooms with bathroom, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV and hairdryer. It has a service restaurant, bar, conference room, TV room, an outdoor pool, a Games Room and Billiards. There's also a thermal spa program (special prices) and special programs for groups.
The Hotel Senhora Do Castelo is located in the town of Mangualde. Free internet access in all romos. A buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. On-site, free public parking. Pets are not allowed.
Situated just minutes away from the old town (by car) and close to the shopping center, [poi = 61304] Palacio do Gelo [/ poi], this great four-start hotel is surrounded by gardens in a residential area. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Natural Park [poi = 62438] Serra da Estrela [/ poi] and in this particular case to have at hand the great Viseu Shopping Center. The Old Town contrasts with the modernity of its commercial facilities. The hotel has 38 rooms and 5 suites all with a terrace and a nice garden, small safe, a.c., telephone, cable TV, internet access. The accommodation includes a varied breakfast buffet and do not to forget their great prices. It is highly recommended for families in a quiet environment.
The Darei House is a rural tourism property, like a guesthouse, located in Darei, Mangualde Council. It's nestled within 150 hectares crossed by the river Dão, a river upstream of Fagilde. It enjoys vast expanses of picturesque countryside. There are captive walks along the river and walks through the green plains.
