A guesthouse in the old town of San Sebastian, near the church of Santa Maria. The apartment on the top floor is a penthouse with two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, and bathroom. It has a spectacular terrace overlooking the Concha Bay and the entire city. Ibon, the guy who runs it, is very nice and helpful.
This elegant and charming hotel, housed in a beautiful building with a neoclassical façade from the start of the century, is a symbol of San Sebastián. Its location on the beach of La Concha and just steps from the city centre is a luxury. Despite having been modernised and updated, it preserves intact its "belle epoque" traits.
In one of the most enchanting streets of the old town, the harbour road which leads directly from Constitution Square to the old port of San Sebastian, this hotel has just two stars. It is located on the second floor of an old building with many small rooms, but overall it's very comfortable and clean, and reasonably priced considering its extraordinary location. They don't offer breakfast, but you can have it just down the street; there are many solutions nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful (though be aware that reception only opens at 10:30), and the rooms and bathrooms are clean enough. The perfect base for exploring San Sebastian.
The Gran Bahia Bernardo, in the heart of San Sebastian, is the ideal accommodation if you want to really discover the beautiful Basque city. All rooms are adequately equipped with TV, WiFi and en suite. The beach is only a 2 minute walk away. Many of the city's attractions are also within walking distance. Constitution Square is 129 meters away, the Eder Alderdi is 174 meters, and the Port of San Sebastian is 362 meters.
In the heart of San Sebastian's historical centre, just a few meters from the Playa de la Concha and a short walk from the Convention Centre and Auditorium Kursaal, there is the Pension Ab Domini. It's a simple and small hotel that offers complimentary WiFi throughout the property and is surrounded by leisure options. It's less than 200 meters from the Plaza of the Constitution and its rooms have TV, private balcony and minibar.
This guesthouse is located in the historical centre of San Sebastian, opposite the Palace of San Telmo, at the foot of Mount Urgull, between the beaches of La Concha and Zurriola. It's a modest guesthouse in a residential building, so there's not much more than a counter that serves as reception and the rooms. We booked a double with extra bed, and to tell the truth we were a little disappointed by the quality : price ratio. The service was poor - the only contact we had in five days was when we arrived and were told that the room was still not ready, despite it being 2pm, and when we left and were given the bill.
It's a small hotel with just five rooms, so we expected more family-style service, and for the managers to take notice of the details, but it was quite the opposite. Upon entering the room I noticed that the cleaning was insufficient, the closet quite old and full of dust. But looking at the view from the balcony ... I could forget those little inconveniences, just gazing over the beauty of the city and the sea. Another advantage is its proximity to the area famous for pintxos, no need to drive anywhere.
