Acebo Natural Pools

Our summertime route through Extremadura began at the Acebo natural pools. Honestly, it’s a wonderful place to cool off. That being said, it’s not exactly easy to reach: you have to go down a long, winding highway but the effort is definitely worth it once you arrive.

It’s a perfect place to spend a day of sun and fun with the family. The pools are very well-known in the area and there’s a large parking lot and a restaurant where you can enjoy a nice meal. For us, it was the perfect beginning to a lovely trip.

This is a natural swimming area that’s easy to reach by car and offers plenty of parking. From the parking lot, there’s a short walk to the pools (around 3 minutes, at most). The natural pools are fantastic…the water is very clean and it’s easily-accessible by swimmers of all ages and abilities. We even saw a lot of elderly swimmers out enjoying themselves. I’d really recommend going.
