Alimentarte

The Viceroy Park is just behind my parents' home. This annual event, organised by the Green Heart Foundation, raises funds to help widows and orphans of police officers who have died in the line of duty. It's a gourmet food festival, one of the most important in Bogota, where many restaurants offer food to the public at special rates. In 2007, I had the chance to attend Alimentarte, and it was a great pleasure. The park is filled with kiosks offering culinary delights from around the country and the world, and everything is organised into sections according to different types. There are bands in each different area.
