The Seville Antiquarium

Great

Under the plaza de la Encarnación the largest Roman archaeological site in the city of Seville was discovered. It has given place to the Antiquarium, located under the futuristic Metropol Parasol project and the Encarnación market.

The archaeological remains found there date back from the first century to the twelfth century and highlighted amongst these, in particular, the Roman House mosaics, the Casa de la ninfa or Bacchus House. Also noteworthy, a ten-foot mural located in the ocean courtyard.

I found the Antiquarium very interesting being that, unfortunately, in the city of Seville there are hardly any Roman ruins on show without going to the Archaeological Museum, where almost everything on display was brought from Italica.

Excellent

The Antiquarian was newly opened under the plaza de la encarnación; it’s an amazing place where you can visit Roman ruins, that what were formerly thermal baths and a noble area of the city.

With stunning archaeological, engineering and architectural work, this site is a new reference point for tourists in the city.
