Walled City of Baku

Baku is the capital of Azerbaijan, which is south of the Apsheron Peninsula and connects with the Caspian Sea port. The site dates back to the Palaeolithic period. The Walled City of Baku reveals evidence of many cultures such as Persian, Arabic, Ottoman, Russian, among others and it houses many of its walls and ramparts, so visitors can see the city almost in its entirely. The city center is known as the "old city" and its two main attractions are the Maiden's Tower or Qiz Shirvanshahs Dalasi and the palace, which are considered the pearl of architecture in this country, besides these two Monuments we can find Persian baths, mosques and of course, museums, showing fine arts, history and literature, which are located in mansions once belonging to millionaires before the Russian revolution.
