Ban Pakam Market

Our goals for the day were to do the waking tour of the city center and find out about the night bus to Vientiane. First, we visited the food market of Luang Prabang. It was cheerful, colorful and photogenic. After breakfast, we ate at a street stall (a smoothie and sandwich for 10,000 K). To my surprise, there were not many tourists. We were able to really enjoy the day, stopping regularly to take in the scenes, appreciating the color palettes and wonderful flavors everywhere.

I love walking through every nook and cranny in a city, getting lost in its maze of stalls and alleys. You can always find stalls like this, full of colour, with good people attending them and selling local products. Without going too far I found a stall selling fruit that I'd only had in this area. They seem a bit odd at first, but once you've tried them...you won't forget them.
