Bar Américain

The American Bar is in Freedom Square, next to the town hall and the theater of Valence. It is not decorated in an American style, nor does it serve American food, it's just its name. It is a simple bar, with nothing exceptional, the only thing that makes it attractive is its large terrace over Freedom Square. There is a mix of clientele from the neighborhood, with some tourists in summer and the service is friendly and fast. When the sun rises on the terrace, it is very pretty. The prices are reasonable but there are cheaper places outside of the historic center. It closes early.
