Bell Tower, St Andrew's

The medieval cathedral of St Andrew of Worcester was destroyed in 1949 because it was in very bad shape. All that remains is this fifteenth-century tower, with its arches and statues. The tower was redone during the 1750's because the smaller bell was destroyed by lightning. Nathaniel Wilkinson is the man responsible for the work. The bell tower is still one of the city's great landmarks. Nearby there is a park where many students meet due to its close proximity to the University of Worcester. The church was simple, with a nave and some chapels. It also had a wooden structure. Most of the decorations and furniture were stolen over the years, but in the Church of All Saints, you can find all that remains.
