Lübeck became famous for making marzipan. This was mostly due to being close to the Sea for distribution along the Baltic. It became so famous that the people of Lübeck became known as Triumphal March of Marzipan by the World. The truth is that my palate did not notice the difference between this and Spanish marzipan, but still worth a visit to see this Marzipan Museum, where there are plenty of life-size sculptures made from the substance.
