Cariari Bus Terminal

I did all my travelling around Costa Rica by bus. To get from San Jose to San Jose Tortuguero you have to take route # 32 → Guápiles; Cariari route # 247 → → → boat → Pavona Tortuguero. Once in Cariari you can buy tickets that cover land and water service. If you want, you can pay for the bus ride Coopetraca and water transportation. Both services cost the same. You reach Cariari by 11 or 12, because the journey to Pavona will take 1.5 hours and you take the boat at 13:30. The bus is pretty full and cramped but it is a fun journey. Its very hot and some boats will make the journey fun (watch video) This is the best option to start your trip to Costa Rica because if you rent a car you can not go to Tortuguero.
