Cathedral of Spoleto

At the heart of Spoleto, the Piazza del Duomo, is the great cathedral city. It was started on the ruins of a 9th century church in the in the second half of the 11th century and was renovated and expanded in the 16th and 17th centuries. The cathedral is elegant and simple. One of the religious buildings and elegant nicest I've seen. Do not fail to happen either your interior will not disappoint. It houses a remarkable number of works of art and masterpieces by artists such as Pinturicchio, Bernini, and the tomb of the great Filippo Lippi.
