Chapel of San Roque

Work on the picturesque chapel of San Roque began in early 1559, in the suburb of Totana. In the eighteenth century the chapel of San Roque was placed in a new location, outside of the town, on the road to Aledo. Among the artists who received commissions to decorate the chapel were Silvestre Martinez Teruel who was master of the paintings of the four medallions of the dome, representing San Andres, San Bartolome, San Francisco and Santa Catalina.
