Courthouse Building

This building is located directly opposite the Episcopal Palace and the Trine Frades Jardim . I was amazed, not at the building itself, but at the sculpture next to the door. Standing on a pedestal of large granite blocks, this huge hand-carved bronze sculpture supposedly represents justice. It's framed by portico whose columns are decorated with motifs and texts alluding to civil law.
