Fishing Port of Laredo

At the foot of the Watchtower is the fishing harbour, currently under renovation for its expansion. Until work began, it was a must for seeing a beautiful sunset or the arrival of ships to the auction to start the day. Besides Carmen Day, patron saint of fishermen, where decorated boats sail out to the port also celebrates San Roque Day on 16th August, when whole crews approached to prepare huge pots of marmitako. Due to the renovation, the festivities have now been moved to the Alameda de José Antonio.
