Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Grotto)

A big surprise when visiting the Amalfi Coast! We took a tour bus to get to Amalfi and Sorrento, and in the middle of the journey, the driver told us about a beautiful cave, and asked if anyone wanted to get off to take a closer look. Well, since we were there anyway, why not? It's a small cave, not very popular with tourists, just 45 x 32m and 24m high. There are some boats that will take you on a "tour" inside, but be warned that the guides do NOT speak English. You can't stay longer than 40 minutes, because there's nothing to do down there except admire the view. It's quite windy, so better take off your hat.
