3 reviews of Hyde Park

Largest park in Sydney

Hyde Park is the largest park in Sydney. It is located in the eastern part of the city, close to the financial district and its spectacular skyscrapers. Bordered by Elizabeth Street, College Street, St. James Road, Prince Albert Road and Liverpool Street (home to the Spanish Quarter), it was named in honor of Hyde Park in London. The park is spectacular and has unique vegetation, ancient trees, native plants, Australian birds, and even bats! One of the most beautiful buildings in the park is St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney's Catholic cathedral, built in 1868 in the Gothic Revival style reminiscent of the great medieval cathedrals of Europe.
