Katoomba

The Three Sisters.

According to the Aboriginal legend, three sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and Gunnedoo ' lived in the Jamison Valley and were all members of the Katoomba tribe. The three sisters were in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, but tribal law forbade them to marry. The brothers decided that they could not accept the law and made a plan to capture the three sisters by force. Since the their lives were in danger, a wizard from the Katoomba tribe turned the three sisters into stone in order to protect them. During the battle the wizard was killed. As the legend goes,
