Krabi is one of the most iconic places in Thailand. The beaches are gorgeous, people are super friendly and there's a lot of things to experience. Boat tour, motorcycle, bike around the city etc. It's hard to be bored there. Ao Nang beach is a small and very fun city. It's not very expensive to find a place to sleep and it's so beautiful. The detour is worth it!
Krabi is a wonderful place. When you get to the beach the sea is the color of emeralds. I had to grab a canoe (as I call it since they are homemade boats) to go to another beach where my hotel was, which was a bit of a trippy experience. There was the sea, where you can climb mountains. The beaches were great, the hotels were spectacular and expensive, with a great range of good food, a good atmosphere and several good places to have drinks. You can ride an elephant, snorkel, dive to a spectacular seabed with many colorful fish, corals .... A Wonderful place to go for a summer or holiday spectacular.
So near by it's tiny little hidden gem Reilly island you couldn't ask for more so easy to also get about and get to any other island amazing place with plenty to see and enjoy.
