Magnolia Bakery

The story of Magnolia Bakery is a little piece of the American dream! The original store was opened in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, in 1996, as an attempt to recapture the flavors and colors of the American golden age. The founders were Allysa Torey and Jennifer Appel, who offered cupcakes and coffee which could be taken away or eaten standing at the small bar. Gradually the brand became more popular, but it really shot to fame when it had a prominent role in the TV series Sex and the City. In 2007,the brand was taken over by Steve and Tyra Abrams, and it can now be found in seven different locations, including Chicago, Los Angeles, and Dubai.
