4 reviews of Mariinsky Palace

A austere palace

In front of the Cathedral of St. Isaac stands this austere grey palace, built in the late nineteenth century for the daughter of Czar Nicolas II. It was sold to the Russian Treasury, and was assigned to the State. Since the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, it has been used for governmental purposes.
