The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History (Las Vegas) is located on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. There are a variety of attractions of desert animals that are enclosed in tanks. The most common lizard in Nevada is the poisonous Gila Monster. Most of the museum focuses on the life and traditions of the Paiute and Hopi Indians. There are also displays of varieties of baskets, including cargo baskets, bowls baskets, seed beaters and storage baskets. In another section of the museum, there is an exhibition of 72 artifacts that tell the story of ancient Mesoamerica.
