Mendut Candi is a ninth century Buddhist temple, older than that of Borobudur. In this pyramidal structure there are three impressive statues carved in stone. Its architecture , like the roof,is square, it has many steps at the entrance and the roof is pyramidal in layers, there are stupas on it. It is situated in the village of the same name, with souvenir shops along the roadside.
