Monastery on a mountain
Kalaw is a small town situated on the road which links Mandalay with Lazhio. You could easily miss it were it not for being the starting point of a very popular 2/3 days trek which goes to Kalaw Inle Lake. Most people spend a single night in Kalaw, but in my opinion the place deserves at least a full day, as it is a cool and nice mountain village at 1500 m, and on the hill that dominates the city there is a charming monastery, which is the best place to watch the sun set over the surrounding mountains
