ancient artifacts
Created in 1950 and expanded in 2003, the museum occupies several rooms of the ancient Casamari Abbey. Founded by the Benedictines in the 11th century, it was rebuilt by Cistercian monks in the 12th and 13th centuries . The collection on display includes artifacts founded during excavations of Cereatae Marianae, mainly from the Iron Age.
