Archaeological museum
The Museo Nazionale di Santa Maria delle Monache (Isernia) is an archaeological museum dedicated to the findings from the Paleolithic Isernia La Pineta. One room features fragments of bones of various animals, whether hunters or the hunted, and cut stone tools, displayed in the position they were found in. A second room is dedicated to Aesernia antiquities, the Roman colony founded in the mid-second century.
