Port that has been expanded
The Port of Santo Domingo is named Ozama, lying at the mouth of the river in the Caribbean Ocean. Since its construction in the 15th century as a small spring, it has played an important role in the commercial and industrial development of the country. It was expanded in the year 1937 by General Leonidas Trujillo Molina, ve commissioned the work for engineer Felix Benitez Rexach, and later in the 80s, after it acquired a bigger boom time, and now has many freight terminals, ferries, etc. It even has a contemporary Cruise Terminal.
