This is a great beach and the sea is very quiet so you can snorkel on the nearby reef. It's also not as crowded as the beach of Playa del Carmen, which is about 3 km south. There is a small restaurant in the area where you can drink. If you want to dive, the equipment can be rented at this restaurant. There are many seagulls who eat along the shore.
