Plaza del Trigo

This small square is in the historical center, facing the south facade of the Cathedral. It's name comes from the fact there was formerly a market selling cereals and grain, as well as ceramics and silverware. Wheat Square is practically attached to the Plaza de las Damas, once an orange tree courtyard of the Cathedral. In the center of the square is the Fuente Nueva (Fonte Nova), made of granite and placed on a stairway to compensate for uneven ground, was brought from the Monastery of Oseira.
