Poiana Sibiului Market

2 reviews of Poiana Sibiului Market

Peasant life

Poiana Sibului, meaning the Sibului mountain, is a somewhat remote village, next to Jina, the country's highest village. But it's not too high to have delicacies in the market. In fact, there's lots of sun and rain to grow beautiful fruit. There are all kinds of summer fruit, like watermelons, peaches, and others, but the number of vegetables is more limited. However, the region's tomatoes, with a puntita, are the best. Also Typical there are the yellowish green peppers. The people coming to the market wear their best clothes since it's a bit of an event, and along with mass, is something different from peasant life.
