Gaudy buildings

Strolling through the old town center I ran into one of the most beautiful squares in Freiburg with strong gaudy buildings, balconies with flowers, and brown!. And there is the pretty little church opposite the Town Hall. The administrative center of the city is here, the town hall, tourist office and other municipal, construction of C16th. As in other parts of the city the atmosphere is very southern, ie very Mediterranean with terraces, the bustle, the warm weather. Worth sitting on one of the terraces to enjoy this beautiful multicolored square under the shade of chestnut trees surrounding the statue of Berthold Schwarz, a Franciscan monk, inventor of gunpowder back in 1350.
