Rianxo is a fishing village in the south of the province of A Coruña, located on the right bank of the rivers Ulla and Arosa. Around 50 Km from the capital of Galicia (Santiago de Compostela). Rianjo, (in Spanish) is known for its scenic views, both mountain and coastal and for its petroglyphs and caves. Reasons for going include the wildlife, especially deer. Also of note is a lovely promenade along the coast, small churches and squares, as well as the monument to Castelao, a distinguished politician and writer born in this very town and buried in 1950 in Santiago de Compostela.
