Rochefort Hotel

Excellent

This is the absolute jewel of Grand Rue and, at one time, was the best hotel in the entire region and is now one of the most famous landmarks of the city of Poitiers. Jean de Moulins, Lord of Rochefort and personal secretary of King Louis XI, decided to build his own hotel which was eventually completed by the mayor of Poitiers in the seventeenth century, Isaie Brochard, ve had it rebuilt in accordance with the aesthetic trends of the period. This beautiful building operated as a luxury hotel in this city from the seventeenth to the eighteenth century. At the end of the last century, the city government declared it a monument of the city and since then it has operated as a museum and exhibition of local and regional architecture.
