Near the corner of the old Teatini...

Excellent

Near the corner of the old Teatini monatery, the Hagia Irene has an imposing baroque facade with two columns and huge windows. It was built in honour of St Irene of Thessalonica, and the interior is really incredible, with many small and highly decorated altars. There are also plenty of frescoes decorating the interior. The church was only opened to the general public in 1860; before that date, it was used only for the Teatini order.
