Noradoa
Known as the Island of the Dead
The cemetery of Venice is known as the Island of the Dead and it's good to hike here for a few hours to escape the bustle of the city. It's between Venice and Murano, about 5 minutes from the first, and any of the vaporetto lines 41 and 42 stop here before Murano. The island is completely dedicated to the cemetery and can not be extended so ossuaries are renewed periodically. Several famous people buried here, the most famous is Stravinsky.
