Santa Fe de Antioquia was founded in 1541, before Medellin was founded. It used to be the political center of Antioch and one of the most important cities in Colombia. It's one of the country's best preserved colonial cities and includes a Cathedral, the Hermitage, the Black house and the city museum. Within walking distance there is a wooden bridge that has been declared a National Heritage Site.
