A place with some of the oldest remains in the AMericas

Southeast of Piaui, about 530 km from the town of Teresina, is the National Park Serra da Capybara, which is is a world heritage site by UNESCO. This park extends along the municipalities of San Raimundo Nontato, Colonel Jose Diaz and Joao Piaua Brejo the Coast. Oore than 30 years of research has uncovered over 700,000 archaeological sites in the area, of which 590 have cave paintings, so this park contains a wealth of archaeological, historical and cultural knowledge. Many landmarks of which could be considered a monumental museum as it is among lovely rock formations with amazing archaeological and paleontological sites and you can see the presence of prehistoric man and animals.
