Sheriffmuir

Sheriffmuir is one of those places in Scotland that are difficult to describe. It could be defined as a plain between mountains, as a historic place, a natural park, and of course a great place to do hill walking and trekking. It lies between the villages of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane, and there are some plains you get to after climbing in the mountains in the area. A battle took place here in(1715), that has the same name as the place, during the Jacobite uprisings. What first strikes you about the the place is that you seem to be lost in the middle of nowhere, and the second is that everything is beautiful, all fused into one single place: mountains, lakes, rivers, meadows and forests.
