To go to India and not try a lassi would be like going to Valencia and not trying horchata. Varanasi is one of the cities in India where many stalls make this drink from yogurt and mixed fruit, most traditionally mango. A variety of this drink is called special lassi, or Bhang lassi, which is prepared with a cannabis bhang. Although this type of lassi is legal in many parts of India and is often consumed during religious festivals, but be very careful because the effects can be quite undesirable if you have more than one or you are not used this type of "concoction."
