Square de la tour des pins

3 reviews of Square de la tour des pins

Highly recommended

Right behind the cathedral, this small square tower offers a great view of that magnificent building. It has a Romanesque, slightly Gothic, style, and was built in the year 1196, under the Aragon dynasty. It played the role of a surveillance tower, defending against the English. In the year 1562, it was besieged by Catholics, then by Protestants in 1622. Highly recommended.
