Beautiful and remote

Located near Thurso on the north coast of the Highlands, Strathy Point lighthouse stands at the tip of a cape facing the North Atlantic Ocean and Norwegian Sea. This is a beautiful, remote site which offers you the chance to see whales in migration! You'll need to walk for 20 minutes to get there, as the road is closed to traffic, and you have the chance to climb the rocks to reach the tip of the cape, just above the waves breaking on the cliffs!

Heartfelt Thanks for an Unforgettable Visit

Excellent

Our recent visit to Strathy Point Lighthouse was truly one of the most memorable highlights of our coach tour, and we are overflowing with gratitude to the crofter (farmer) and his wonderful wife who welcomed us with such warmth and generosity.

From the moment we arrived, their kindness was evident. They not only allowed our coach to make its way down the narrow road to the lighthouse—something we were initially unsure would be possible—but also gave us invaluable assistance in turning the bus around at the bottom. This was no small task, and their calm, helpful guidance made what could have been a difficult situation feel completely stress-free. We are deeply thankful for their patience and support.

Not recommendable

The review by Claudette is fake and spreads information that is not true.
My family lives here and I can ensure that all information is fake. The road to the lighthouse is private and not for cars only walking. Absolutely no dogs allowed as sheep loose with no fences at cliffs.
The lighthouse is decommissioned and is now run as air bnb so it’s also private.
