Journey into nature
A one hour drive from Merida is Celestun, which is an estuary. You can take a boat where you can take a tour of 1/2 hours (recommended), where you'll find out about mangroves, ojos de agua, the Petrified Forest, Bird Island and an area where you can see hundreds of flamingos. At the end you can visit the town of Celestun and eat at the restaurants on the beach, the speciality is crabs legs and snails.
