2 reviews of Spianada Square

Corfu's Center of Life

Great

The Spianada is one of the largest plazas in Greece. On one side of the square there's a huge park with a bandstand and some tholos. On the eastern side you can see the [poi = 680 591] ancient fortress [/ poi] by the sea and on the northern side, you'll find the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, which is where the Oriental Museum is now. But the most interesting and lively square is the Liston, the building of arcades full of lively cafes. In summer the whole area is very busy and it is very nice to sit in one of the cafes or stroll through the park.
