The Survivor Tree

I can imagine some of you thinking, "Why are you writing about a tree?" Well, I was moved and impressed by the story behind this tree. Why is it so special? Well, this tree survived both a strong storm and the tragic events of September 11. Rescue teams found it under the rubble in a sorry state indeed, but it managed to continue as if nothing had happened. And it's not a small tree! It is really big now, especially when you see it alongside the newly planted memorial trees on the site. Take a moment to read its story when you visit the memorial.
